Parrot Safe Driver (PSD) is possibly the first Go Green motor insurance policy on earth!
Parrot prides itself on being a Green organization. We take a 3600 view of our environmental footprint and have proactively taken many steps to reduce our environmental impact.
This means actions on part of Parrot (i.e., every Parrot employee) and also a joint effort with our underwriters, vendors, and most importantly you, our esteemed customers. So, when you buy a Parrot policy you are giving a thumbs up to going Green and actively participating in making the earth a better place!
So, join us and let the Parrot take wings!
In consultation with experts & NGOs, we have taken a host of initiatives towards reducing our environmental impact:
a. We issue e-policies, e-receipts etc.
b. Insurance claims are registered digitally.
Contribute towards lowering CO2 emissions:
a. We focus on improving driving behavior, i.e., reducing harsh acceleration, harsh braking etc. This itself helps reduce carbon emissions.
b. Parrot app shows the CO2 emission for each trip. This improves awareness about the emissions. Awareness leads to concrete action.
c. PSD can be purchased only online. This has significantly lower carbon footprint than the traditional insurance purchase methods.
d. All our processes like policy issuance, payment receipts, claim submission etc. are completely digital. This has a significantly lower carbon footprint as compared to a policy/payment receipt getting delivered by mail/courier or filing claim by visiting an insurance office/branch in person.
Parrot policyholders can buy carbon credits by redeeming the P-Rewards the policyholders earn end of every quarter. They can potentially neutralise the entire CO2 footprint resulting directly from their own driving through such redemption. Parrot is proud to work with Shell Nature-based solutions, which is part of the Shell group. They work extensively in the field of sustainable development and thereby generating certified carbon credits. Needless to mention, the entire redemption process itself is completely digital and therefore nearly carbon neutral.
Parrot chooses its suppliers/vendors basis their commitment to the environment and not just based on lowest bid.
Parrot is conscious of the carbon footprint from its own operation and strives to off-set the same by planting trees, using environmentally friendly things like LED lighting in its offices or using only energy-efficient electronic equipment.
Parrot encourages work from home (WFH). Even after easing of pandemic restrictions we have retained WFH policy to manage the carbon footprint.
Parrot encourages environmentally conscious behavior among its employees during, and even out of, office. Parrot offices do not use single-use plastic, single-use packaged water bottles etc. Parrot offices are almost paperless and use only recycled paper for their external essential paper needs. Travel is kept to a minimum. Senior management personnel have even replaced incandescent lighting in their homes with LED lights.
